Jesus is The Savior.

The promised Savior was born and laid in a manger rather than a royal crib, and his birth was announced to shepherds instead of royalty. Jesus is The Savior for every person who comes to him in repentance and faith.

The long-awaited Savior came in a way that reveals that he is the Son of God sent to bring about salvation and redemption for sinners.

  1. A Humble Birth (vv.1-7)
    1. Key Verse - And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. (v. 7)
  2. A Glorious Announcement (vv. 8-21)
    1. Key Verse - For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (v. 11)
  3. A Grateful Response (vv. 22-40)
    1. Key Verses - for my eyes have seen your salvation…and coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. (v. 30 and v. 38)
  4. A Love for the Father (vv. 41-52)
    1. Key Verses - And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
